Call to Gather:

O: Without you…
A: the body of Christ is incomplete.
O: Without me…
A: some gifts are lost.
O: Without her…
A: we may not have all we need…
O: without him…
A: to live out God’s call.
O: We are not all the same.
A: But we are all needed.
Wanted.
Loved.
In this time and place,
in all times and places.

O: Thanks be to God!

Prayer of Approach:

A: Give us sight, God –
help us to see!
Give us hearing, God –
help us to listen!
Give us voice, God –
help us to speak!
Give us strength, God –
so we would follow Christ’s lead:
to bring good news to those without,
to unbind the bound,
to help the oppressed be free!
Give us strength, God –
that we might celebrate your Jubilee!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Amen.

Words before Scripture:

O: Like the people who stood before Ezra,
as he read the book of the law,
let us rise up in our hearts and our hearing,
let us hear God’s Words in these words.
For God is great, and greatly to be praised!
A: Amen! Amen!

Words before the Offering:
O: All that we have,
all that we are,
is God’s.
Our task? To use these things –
our gifts, our lives, our love –
to live the Jubilee.
In our giving, let us forgive.
In our receiving, let us find peace.
A: In our receiving, let us forgive.
In our giving, let us find peace.

Commissioning and Benediction:

O: We’re…
A: going into the world.
O: We’re…
A: as ready as we’re going to be!
O: God…
A: is with us, no matter what.
O: God…
A: is with all creation, no matter what.
O: And so…
A: we are not alone.
O: And so…
A: ALLELUIA!
