Epiphany 7 – Year C

Often God says, “Come closer to me.”
And, often, we are afraid.
Often, the angels have admonished, “Be not afraid!”
And, yet, we remain frightened.
Frightened of what?
Of God, of the world, of ourselves.
This is a place and a time where we gather
to set aside our fears;
to be in God’s presence with hope;
to renew our breath;
to remind ourselves that, with all of who we are,
we are God’s beloved children.
This is a place and a time where we gather
to be held, safe, in God’s arms.

Let us put aside our fears.
Let us listen to God’s love.
Alleluia!
Amen.
