Proper 19 – Year A (Romans 14.1-12)

One: (Arms in air.) Pray this way!
Two: (Kneeling.) No. That’s wrong!
Pray this way!
Three: (Head bowed. Hands folded.)
No. That’s wrong!
Pray this way!
All: But…
whenever we pray, we honour God.
However we pray, we honour God.

One: (Using hands.)
Eat this way!
Two: (Using chopsticks.)
No. That’s wrong!
Eat this way!
Three: (Using a fork.)
No. That’s wrong!
Eat this way!
All: But…
however we share in God’s gifts,
as long as we are thankful,
we honour God!

One: Ah…. so…
“We do not live to ourselves,
and we do not die to ourselves.”
Two: Ah… so…
“If we live, we live to Christ,
and if we die, we die in Christ.”
Three: Ah! So…
“Whether we live or whether we die,
we are Christ’s.”
All: Ah! So…
wherever we are,
however we are,
whoever we are…
let us worship God!
